The end of the beginning. The beginning of the end.

Right, CTG 121 pretty much settled down into college mode. We as OGLs are pretty delighted over this seemingly un-worthy piece of news, in the eyes of others. ^^

Well, the past week has been filled with all the fun and hiatus one could possibly expect from the best moments of college life. On the Monday last week, the Seletar House displayed one of its best performances to date. We, the warriors of Seletar, under the value of 'Loyalty'. Decided to sell the main idea of our aim, JAI HO, for this year for Orientation '10.

To the uninitiated, JAI HO, means VICTORY in HINDI. And that is what we had hoped for, for Seletar to garner the Best House, Best House Cheer, Best OGL, Best CTG, Best CTG Cheer and Best Dance Couple.

And WE JUST DID THAT ^^

Disappointed we were, when the news broke out that we didn't win the Best Dance Couple, instead relegated to the measly position of 5th among the 5 houses. You can almost see the look of disappoint amongst all the faces of the Seletar Warriors, including the OGLs and House Excos. We thought we couldn't win, we thought it was a replay of last year's situation ALL OVER AGAIN. Seletar failing in its quest for the Best Dance title, and everything just went downhill after it. We were at the last placement for Orientation last year...................................................

Who knows it might happened again?

Unfortunately, instead of going downhill, WE WENT UP :P

After the disappointment, the Warriors putted up a good CTG cheer performance, in the form of CTG 129's heartening act. I've got to say, it was really nice, even though it was uncoordinated in the beginning due to the fact that Mitch and the rest decided not to involve the OGLs in, the CTG themselves showed a tremendous amount of confidence, and overcome all odds to secure the Warriors a 2nd place in this category. Adding to the house score of around 800 points or so.

Next, the house cheer, unexpectedly, all house decided to copy one's another cheer. And there was i thinking that a gentlemen's agreement was in place. The most outrageous act was of CTG 105's usage of Seletar's "Fight, Fight, Fight" cheer, OUR HOUSE CHEER. To think i actually admire them for their class spirit throughout the Orientation. Other houses also did the same, and there we were, seeing all the cheers we came up with, taking one form or the other.

And my was i glad that we decided to come up with new ones during House bonding session. ^^ The judges were clearly impressed when we came up with new renditions of cheers never heard before, and............................. WE WON THE BEST HOUSE CHEER!

Boo to all the others! All it takes is 3 hours over two days, and there we were, the title securely in our hands :P

Even though we did not win the title of Best OGL, Best CTG and Best Dance Couple. Which gives the most points, what i tink really pushed the House to the status of champions was the tele-match on the last day of Orientation, and the Yishun Amazing race on the 4th day of Orientation.

Why?

For a record, the stations that Seletar's CTG went to, average at around 6 for all CTGs out of the 10 stations that was set up. That was definately more than any other houses out there i believed. Even the Best CTG, managed like 5? And that was an average for most CTGs.

Weird right? When u consider house morale and the individual's morale. And we actually thought that all the others did more than 6. Ironic.

Next was the Tele-match on the last day. The group we was assigned to was Group 4, and we actually won the most number of matches in there. If my memory serves me right, 121 won 9 matched, drawed 3 matches, lost 2-3 matches.

So, a winning match garners 250 points, a draw garners 150 and a lost garners 100 points. U do the maths ^^ And that was about the same throughout every Seletar CTG in all groups :D

All i got to say is: We shine under pressure, and gets going when the going gets hard!!!

There we have it, a well deserved win! And it was quite a shock, we managed to overcome Pierce who were the leads for the first 6 days at 1st Position, Rodney at 2nd Position. And managed to become 1st in Position, with Admiralty at the 2nd Position, and Rodney at 3rd Position, Pierce 4th.

The entire House was just soaking in that nostalgic feeling. We thumped our chests, we wailed, we screamed, we shouted, and we cheered. That was indeed a hard-earned win, and was definately impossible if the j1s didn't want it to.

From the start, faced with the disadvantage in size. In particular, my 121. Many of them had to tired themselves out for the many games set in place. The OGLs know how tired they were. We had 4 games per station, many in 121 played four times. That was how serious it was.

Still, we endured and we screamed for support for our classmates. Seletar's class.

The end result was just.......... BOOMZ

Now, after post-orientation fever. Reality comes back upon us. I have been slacking around in school, getting myself in unnecessary troubles. Its time to end what has begun 2 months ago. The training sessions and the bonding time with my fellow OGLs, and subsequently the carefree talk/mingling sessions with my OG and CTG. Everything becomes a memory, a memory that is priceless. A goal that was actively seeked, a goal that has been reached. Nows the time to throw everything away, to start what i had truly begin, the A level education.

To remember what has been done, only serves to fulfill's one's longing.
To do what has one begin, serves to accomplish one's promise and desire.
Only if u start doing what have u begin, than u can taste the fruits of your success, thus fulfilling one's longing.

This blog post could not possibly contain what i have to say, up here in my brain. I have met a bunch of friends whom i never forget in time to come, and this post cannot seek to name them all.

CTG 121, i wish you all the best in all your endeavours.

We bid farewell, only to meet again.
