Yeah, i'm back to Singapore!
The past four days spend at Bintan wasn't exactly fun as i was expecting it to be, right on the first day, we (wave 3) were made to eat plain rice for lunch while other classes are having meat and vegetables. I'm not that petty, but, HOW THE FUCK DID WE ENDED UP EATING THAT? Major screwed up right?
Apprently, there's some supposed jokers from the other waves who took more then they can digest. Greedy bastards i call them, must not be from any of the UG. Cuz we are all schooled in the same mentality.
Anyway, there's still something optimistic to talk about. I'm REALLY learned something from this trip: Never take things for granted. Comparing my experience over at Bintan and here, i can say that we are really fortunate as singaporeans. We do not have salty-water for our baths, we have proper sanitation, we have good rice, vegetables and meat, good transportation systems and need not worry about our daily living for our parents are there to provide for us.
Over there, teenagers start working as soon as there are able to. Which by far, means around the same age as us. They are already made to do labour such as cutting down mangrove trees as a raw material for charcoal making, fishing with their fathers to feed their family or else started working as waiter and waiteresses in the resorts of Bintan.
Whereas here in Singapore, we only need to open our mouths and everything would be provided. Say for me, my parents do not hesitate to pay for anything related to my schooling expenses even though it can really burn a hole in their pockets. Such as the classical guitar i just brought from Yamahe for usage in the Guitar Ensemble i'm took as a CCA, even though my parents are not well-off, they readily fork out the money for me just so i can do good in this.
Not only that, before this trip, my parents also fork out money just so i could get more canterbury bag to be used not only in this camp, but for school too.
I really appreciate them for all they had given me, even though we can really argue pretty bad at times. They just forgot all that we argued about, and proceed on to address our current issues at hand. For all of these as compared to life at a developing country, i must really treasure this, and try not to be damn childish and argue with them at every chance i've gotten.
So yes, the trip itself maybe screwed up in every single-way-possible-yet-acknowledged-by-the-organisers. I took home something that than those 'adventure' activities, something the chance my outlook on life.
Signing Off!!!!
P.S Will post photos of my adventure there next time when i got the chance :) Also, i learn to appreciate SBS's buses. Over there, the bus are damn squeezy and no aircon at all. So, i learn again to be more appreciative of SBS bus even thought the bus drivers can really be sucky at times, i will search for ways to screw them up if they happen to find problem with me!
